An Apology & A Review

Yes, I know I haven't posted since Jimmy Kimmel, but I was overwhelmed by all the videos from last week's "Eclipse" premiere in LA. Overwhelmed by the fact that there were too many out there, some fan-made, others more polished. They seemed to be all repeating themselves, I don't need to see every interview on the red "black" carpet where the same questions are being asked. I can only imagine how the cast handle the repetitiveness. So that is why nothing was posted from it. All the other blogs out there posted them. Sorry, if this upset you.

In other news, I saw "Eclipse" tonight in IMAX. I thought it was a great adaptation of the book, but I did find the pacing to be a bit fast, so some things were "lost in translation". If you haven't yet read "The Second Life of Bree Tanner" there are some elements of the movie that might be lost to you. The action was good, the make-out scenes, better (more of them) and finally, Jasper speaks!!! There is a consensus out there in blogland about Bryce Dallas Howard's portrayal of Victoria that I tend to agree with. I do like her as an actress (loved Lady in the Water & The Village) but her "Victoria" was a bit too coiffed & well dressed for a nomad vampire. She lost the wildness that Rachelle had. It was hard to see here fighting Edward with her big doe-eyes, she looked too cute to be frightening.

I did miss the little tiff between Bella & Edward when he disables her truck when she tries to sneak off to see Jacob. It started, but then it was lost. We didn't get to see Edward telling her that if she didn't want him to visit her to shut her window and she slams it shut. The virginity talk came much later on than in the book and there was no Alice "kidnapping" Bella.

All in all, the movie was great. I would write more, but it's late right now & tomorrow will be upon me very soon. In closing, yellow is a great color on Edward...hee hee!!

Rob, Taylor & Kristen at LA Convention

Access Hollywood Interview

LOS ANGELES, Calif. --

Robert Pattinson has cut his famous hair for his latest film, “Water For Elephants” – and the star says he likes the shorter ‘do so much, he may keep it for “Breaking Dawn.”

“I’m thinking Edward might have a little bit of a haircut in ‘Breaking Dawn,’” he laughed with Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson at “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” junket in LA on Saturday. “I feel so much better. You feel much more agile.”

New hair or not, he may have the chance to show off that agility in the two-part finale to the series, “Breaking Dawn,” in which Edward and Bella (Kristen Stewart) finally marry and consummate their relationship.

“I am looking forward to the pillow-biting scene. I thought that was so funny,” Rob said of the “Breaking Dawn” novel’s Bella/Edward heat of passion moment. “I’m just like, I have all the random things to do. Really? He bites the pillow.”

While Rob and Kristen can look forward to getting physical in “Breaking Dawn,” in “Eclipse” – due June 30 – it’s Taylor Lautner who has a nude scene, but not a fun one.

“He was outside and it was freezing and it was raining as well,” Rob said, explaining that he teased his on-screen romantic rival. “And he sat there like, trembling on the floor. I had my one line and I just kind of keep saying, ‘Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot what it was again, what was it?’”

Although Robert’s serious on screen, the British star’s quite the funnyman off camera – but, he said, it’d be “too nerve-wracking” to try his comedy as a potential “Saturday Night Live” host.

“I think that’s such a risk,” he said. “I went on [‘The Daily Show’] and I was thinking like, ‘Oh, I’ll try to be like, funny and stuff.’ I just realized it’s impossible to be a comedian. You gotta be a genius to able to think of that stuff.”

Victoria On The Run

An Oscar For Rob??

We knew our boy had it in him! Robert Pattinson is definitely proving to the cast and crew of his new drama, Water For Elephants, that he isn’t just his Twilight character, brooding vampire Edward Cullen. In fact, he’s SO good as a Depression-era veterinarian that he may even receive his first Oscar nomination!

When Rob’s Elephants co-star, Christoph Waltz, was asked by fans where he kept his Oscar (he won the Supporting Actor trophy this year for Inglorious Basterds) on the Filmore, Calif. set this week, he responded, “It’s in my house, but the way things are looking, I might have to hand it off to Rob next year!”

And Christoph, 53, isn’t the only person on Elephants impressed by Rob’s acting chops. “This movie is going to be amazing, and you’re going to see Rob in a completely different way, a good way,” a crew inside gushed to HollywoodLife.com exclusively, adding, “It wouldn’t surprise me at all if he were to receive an Oscar nod for this role!”

The role in question? Rob plays Jacob Jankowski, a young, Depression-era veterinarian who joins the circus and falls in love with both Marlena, a circus performer (played by Reese Witherspoon) and Rosie, an elephant.

We can’t wait to see this movie! Let the Oscar buzz begin NOW!

"Breaking Dawn" Will Be Two Movies

Summit Entertainment has made it official -- it's splitting the final "Twilight" film in two. Studio announced early Thursday evening that "Breaking Dawn" would be released as two movies, with the first set to open on the previously announced date of Nov. 18, 2011.

Summit didn't disclose the second date.
In recent months, Summit has closed its deals for helmer Bill Condon to direct "Breaking Dawn" -- the final tome in author Stephenie Meyer's four-book vampire series -- and for the supporting players to return. It was widely expected that Summit would split "Breaking Dawn," the last chapter in the love story of bloodsucker Edward and mortal Bella, into two films.

Summit gave no other details in the announcement other than disclosing that production on the pics will start in the fall.
Catherine Hardwicke helmed the first pic while Chris Weitz directed the second, "New Moon." David Slade was behind the camera for the third, "Eclipse," which opens June 30. Scribe Melissa Rosenberg has adapted each installment and is currently working on the fourth.

Here's the Official word from Summit:

Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011. Academy Award® winner Bill Condon will direct both films starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Billy Burke as Charlie Swan as well as returning members of the Cullen Family including Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer producing. The TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will start production in the Fall.

THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN illuminates the secrets and mysteries of this spellbinding romantic epic that has entranced millions.

Moviefone's Sexiest Man

‘He Plays: Vampire Edward Cullen, the one true love of mortal Bella Swan

Where Else You’ve Seen Him: Besides the ‘Twilight’ series? He was poor doomed Cedric in ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,’ and romanced Emilie De Ravin in ‘Remember Me.’

Why He’s Hot: The knife-sharp cheekbones! That shock of unruly hair! That heroic profile! If ever any actor was born to brood, it’s R-Pattz. He’s just how we imagine our dream vampire boyfriend should be: pale and thin, with eyes that seem to bore into our soul. When he says, “I promise to love you forever,” who doesn’t swoon?”
