An Apology & A Review

Yes, I know I haven't posted since Jimmy Kimmel, but I was overwhelmed by all the videos from last week's "Eclipse" premiere in LA. Overwhelmed by the fact that there were too many out there, some fan-made, others more polished. They seemed to be all repeating themselves, I don't need to see every interview on the red "black" carpet where the same questions are being asked. I can only imagine how the cast handle the repetitiveness. So that is why nothing was posted from it. All the other blogs out there posted them. Sorry, if this upset you.

In other news, I saw "Eclipse" tonight in IMAX. I thought it was a great adaptation of the book, but I did find the pacing to be a bit fast, so some things were "lost in translation". If you haven't yet read "The Second Life of Bree Tanner" there are some elements of the movie that might be lost to you. The action was good, the make-out scenes, better (more of them) and finally, Jasper speaks!!! There is a consensus out there in blogland about Bryce Dallas Howard's portrayal of Victoria that I tend to agree with. I do like her as an actress (loved Lady in the Water & The Village) but her "Victoria" was a bit too coiffed & well dressed for a nomad vampire. She lost the wildness that Rachelle had. It was hard to see here fighting Edward with her big doe-eyes, she looked too cute to be frightening.

I did miss the little tiff between Bella & Edward when he disables her truck when she tries to sneak off to see Jacob. It started, but then it was lost. We didn't get to see Edward telling her that if she didn't want him to visit her to shut her window and she slams it shut. The virginity talk came much later on than in the book and there was no Alice "kidnapping" Bella.

All in all, the movie was great. I would write more, but it's late right now & tomorrow will be upon me very soon. In closing, yellow is a great color on Edward...hee hee!!

A Roundup of "Eclipse" Stuff

Hey all, the Official "Eclipse" website is up & running. It went live last night. Check it out at here. Looks really good, not too much different from the "New Moon" website, but there is a live chat that's ongoing on the mainpage.

Reelzchannel has a cute commentary of the new trailer. It's a little sarcastic, but in a good way. Check it out here.

If you missed the live web chat that went on last night with Nikki Reed, Julia Jones, and Bryce Dallas Howard, no need to worry! MTV followed along and has a summary of all the best stories and info that the ladies supplied the fans.

KStew Talks About Bryce Dallas Howard's Work in Eclipse

Portraying the firey-haired (and eyed) vampire with a knack for escape artisty was easy, according to co-star Kristen Stewart, for Bryce Dallas Howard in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

According to a recent interview Stewart did with MTV, Howard was able to pull off the Victoria-ness just right for the film.

Bryce is scary. She is really oddly sweet as well, so it's weird to see her switch back and forth. Victoria, for Bella, is an ever-present fear — even when Victoria isn't around, she is scared that she is coming back. Bryce is such a good actress, and it was easy to be scared of her.

You've no doubt seen exactly what Stewart is referring to with Howard's work in films like Lady In The Water and The Village. She's definitely a versatile and dynamic actress who can pull off all walks, so it'll be interesting to see how she brings Victoria's uber-evil to the big screen in Eclipse.

This is especially true given the intensity of the character shifts in the storyline. If it's anything like you might imagine from the book, there'll be dramatic points at times and suspenseful and frightening portions in others.

As Kristen Stewart mentioned, there are a few of Howard's films in particular which really exemplify her ability to bring such a character to life. Only a few months until everyone gets to see for themselves!
